Why you ought to leave her (Another version for other people)!

She remembers it all, all trifles and trivia
And ranks among the best of the intelligesia
Your every opinion is subject to her scrutiny
She knows of each pact, knows each mutiny
She demands equality of body and spirit
And has thousand citations in her ambit
If life is a chessboard, she knows all gambits
And wins without fail, for she never submits
She cares not about your desires or dreams
Her life is the center of the world (it seems)
She is not brought up to be easily satisfied
She seeks the moon and is never gratified
She mulls in moods that she calls freedom
Toys with ideas of inducting you into serfdom
Her eyelashes obey the planned ploys of her heart
She speaks in puns, with satire her phrases start

She loves your praise, lusts for your soul too
And dismisses your passions as unpure, untrue
What can satisfy her is the most difficult to possess
She seeks Einstein in head and Hercules in undress
She contrasts your each word to the best ever spoken
And unaccomplished feats are always promises broken
But most of all, you are spineless, and you exist in vain
If for her you give it all, if for her you adapt or abstain
Your each act is governed by the influences on history
And your present is scaled by what it offers to posterity
Even bestial desires in her are tamed by religious fervor
The higher good of humanity is required to get her favor
She knows anatomy, medicine, and politics for good
And chides household chores from her childhood

She can sweep you off your feet, she can mystify you
She can work magic with words, she can glorify you
She will manage your life and accounts to perfection
No nothing will ever escape her erudite attention
And by her very nature she will always be a control freak
And tell you mind your own business in Latin and Greek
She can love, but her love will compete with her reason
Every emotional upheavel will be subjected with her derision
She will be by your side, but fear of her leaving will remain
For she will never show whatever she goes on in her big brain
She is poetry, a prized possession, the pride or a source of inspiration
But a perfect wife, never my friend, never in your wildest imagination
Make her friend, connect to her on the platonic ground
But never tangle in her love, for never it will unwound
Never will you accomplish enough to become her dreamt one
So run like hell my friend, if you are falling for like this someone!

Hey Chaya,
More tea poems to come! I thought I would break the monotony by posting some old poetry!

Well Ashish,

Most guys agree with "run from an intelligent girl approach", and I am sure it helps the male ego to have an admiring (and maybe less intelligent) female as a wife:)! I don't agree with that philosophy, though I guess the intelligent girls are like hard physics problems, either you get them or you miss the point entirely!

Vivek,
nice post! Reminded me of one of my girlfriends (long ago circa 1989, sorry wife if you are reading this, but remember I gave you the long list?)

And, instictively I did SCOOT like hell.

Do not change the last stanza or else you will change the Truth.

Ashish

Miss PG (replying as required:): I will surely rewrite the poem with a better last stanza. There is nothing like having two intelligent people in love with each other, and such love would then blossom into something more wonderful than most of us can only strive for. Sarte and Simone, Elizabeth Berret Browning and Robert Browning are two examples that I can think of.

Ah! But what worries me is having both people too trenched in thought
And in the hesitancy of endless reasonings many a passions are lost!

Hi

The way you have described an intelligent woman is praiseworthy.

But only one question---- An intelligetn woman is everything..... but Is she not lovable. Will you prefer to run away even if you know you are the man she craves for??

Please explain this. An intelligent woman is precious and she deserves an intelligent man!

To inspire poetry in response of both "loving an intelligent girl" and "loving a bimbo" was perhaps a wonderful surprise! Both hardnut and aparna moot the same point, and trust me, I know "woman is as enigmatic as enigma can be":)! Love and life are enigmas too! Anyways, I will return with more poetry inspired by "enigmas" after a fortnight maybe!

To hardnut,

Hey, I believe vivek has used the term "cup of tea" to personify a lady. Many poets, do use such colorful words to identify with the readers. For example, when you say "She has eyes filled with stars", it signifies that "she has dreams in her eyes". With "cup of tea" used in the context here, it can also be interpreted as "refreshing and soothing"just like a how you feel when you have a sip of tea!

A special note of thanks for the wondeful poetry
but a 'girl' is not sth, you desribe like a 'cup of tea'
take a sip and know all about it
savor it for few and throw the cup in a pit
she is as enigmatic as enigma can be
she has hundreds of facets beyond your discovery
it'd take you a lifetime to understand her
but then there is this beautiful law of nature
you forget all codes once u fall for a girl
no 'shoulds' or 'shouldn'ts' work, its very simple
however many classes you put'em in
they are so much similar deep within

Great poem. Particularly, commendable is that you could put your heart in form of words and express yourself so clearly! Many of us have a lot hidden, but somehow words never flow in form of beautiful poetries as this! Keep it up. I am sure your gal will like to treasure this!!

i donot know if and when I will edit, complete and revise this poem (a perennial problem for me). Just to let you know, I wrote a similar poem about loving a bimbo first, posted it today (for damage control) and IF IT WAS ONLY A MATTER OF MY CHOICE, I would any day go for someone like the intelligent girl I semi-described. Its inspired by lots of girls I know, respect, like:), and for the rest I am happy imagining stuff (thats what poets are born to live by)!

Lollz!!
Pray do complete the poem then!
It's not often that one gets such clear perpectives in poetry....:-)))

Btw...is the subject a real person or a dream? Just curious!!

Its interesting to read these comments! In fact, the poem is incomplete, and the last stanza is half-baked. Intelligent girls, as well as intelligent guys, as lovers are like treks: for some enjoyable through and through, for others impossible to pursue!

Vivek,

I thought you captured the essence of the woman very well in your description. I appreciate you for recognising all these in the 'girl', most men fail to do that.

I somehow did not get the impression you were being critical in the poem. Well done! Great poem.

sorry!! ...I shall make that sound better..:-))

So?...you have the desire to be with and enjoy the company of an intelligent woman. But you are not man enough to be her man....!!

Nice poem though!! It mirrors the minds of billions of men. and describes a few women...a precious few, at that...

Instead of she or Intelligent girl add he or almost every man on the planet. Funny how if a man's intelligent and dominating its supposed to be like that but if a girl is intelligent she's criticized as being controlling. I guess all girls/women should run like hell.
